Week 10 ODL - Group 5: Science, Common Sense, and Religion

Today is the last presentation from Group 5. Their topic for the presentation is science, common sense, and religion. the presenters are Firdaus, Arisha, Sakinah, and Najihah. As usual, they present through the WhatsApp group and prepare a discussion video and slide of their presentation. However, they face a technical issue to upload the video and we move to Google Meet presentation. After that, they held with QnA session regarding this topic. Next, they provide a quiz to test students understanding of this topic. They pick random people to answer the questions.

Summary of the topic:

From their presentation, science refers to systematized knowledge derived from observation, study, and experimentation carried on in order to determine the nature or principles of what is being studied. Religion is a social-cultural system of designated behaviors and practices, morals, worldviews, texts, sanctified places, prophecies, ethics, reorganizations, that relates humanity to supernatural, transcendental, or spiritual elements. Plainly stated common sense is information gathered from everyday knowledge and science is thorough research on a particular subject with concluded facts.

In aspects of religion and science, they are complete each other. When we talk about religion, we must refer to reliable sources so that we will not go far away from reality. Science can explain more about any confusing terms in religion and religion has open the way to explore more about science. When we balanced between science and religion, it can lead us to the holistic and balanced growth of either physical or spiritual.

Here, I include their video presentation.
